Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of the Verdalio website, app, and optional cloud services. Verdalio is in early access; these terms may be refined before general availability.
Last updated: 6 July 2026.
What Verdalio is
Verdalio is a Universal Growing OS. The core platform runs locally on your own hardware. Optional, paid Cloud Access adds remote access, away-from-home push notifications, and cloud backup.
Open source and proprietary parts
The Verdalio core — the software that runs on your hub — is open source. Our cloud services (the remote-access relay, push relay, cloud backup, and the marketplace backend) are proprietary. Using the open-source core never requires accepting these cloud terms; they apply only when you use a cloud feature.
Accounts
Cloud accounts are created in the app, not on this website. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Each hub has its own account.
Cloud Access (paid)
Cloud Access is offered under Early Access Pricing at €9 / $9 per month. This price is indicative during early access and may change before general availability; we will tell you before any change affects you. If your subscription lapses, cloud-dependent features stop — but your local functionality is never affected. Your plants do not depend on the cloud.
The recipe marketplace
The marketplace is free. When you publish a recipe you grant other growers the right to download, run, and fork it, and you keep attribution through the recipe lineage. Do not publish content you do not have the right to share. We may remove recipes that are unsafe, infringing, or that violate these terms.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the cloud infrastructure; no uploading of malicious or unlawful content; no reselling of the cloud relay.
Your content
You retain ownership of the recipes, notes, and data you create. You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate the features you use (for example, to store a cloud backup you enabled, or to serve a recipe you published).
Warranty and liability
Verdalio is provided "as is" during early access. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including crop loss. The platform is a tool to help you grow; it does not guarantee outcomes. Always keep an eye on your grow.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be communicated. You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
