Pairing Zigbee devices
Verdalio uses Zigbee 3.0 for all field devices. Pairing is handled by the hub through the Sonoff ZBDongle-P coordinator — no vendor gateway, no cloud account.
Put the device in pairing mode
Most Zigbee sensors pair by holding a button until an LED blinks. Check your device's instructions for the exact gesture.
Let the hub discover it
In the Verdalio app, open device discovery. The hub opens the Zigbee network for joining and lists new devices as they announce themselves — usually within seconds.
Name and place it
Give the device a clear name and note where it lives (which reservoir, which zone). Sensor placement matters: a soil probe at the wrong depth reads the wrong moisture.
Cheap sensors are fine
Budget Zigbee 3.0 devices work well with Verdalio because the hub's ML calibration corrects their drift. See Calibrating pH and EC probes.
